Q) Can I . . . ? -OR- Do you . . . ?
A) The simple answer is YES !
Super 8 Video are able to provide so many services that “YES” probably applies to your question. Let us know what you want and we can do it. In instances where what you want is not within the scope of our abilities, we have a data base of knowledge as to whom we may recommend or use to accomplish your end result.
Q) How long will it take to complete my project ?
A) Unfortunately, that’s not easy to answer. It really depends on the size of your project and how many other project’s we have in queue. We always try to work within the time requirements you may have. If you are in a RUSH, we may require a surcharge, however, we can help you achieve your goal. I suggest it’s in your best interest to drop off your project as soon as possible to allow us to apply discounts, timely completion and save you some money at the same time.
Q) Where are you located and what are your business hours ?
A) We are open 7 days a week (flexible business hours) and are located on Marine Drive in White Rock (about 1 block East of the Washington Avenue Grill or La Baia Restaurant). We also offer Pick up and Delivery Or you may drop your project off or send it to us – please make an appointment with us so we may best serve you and provide further instruction.
Q) Do you watch all of the video’s ?
A) No. Once the equipment is set up with your video tape, the equipment does it’s job and there’s no need for me to to watch the tape unless editing or other special services are requested. For film, yes I do have to watch a fair amount of it. Film is allot more finicky and it requires constant supervision in the transfer equipment to get the best results. Rest assured, your privacy is never compromised.
Q) If I am not a local customer, will you still help me ?
A) Yes. We have helped many clients overseas. Or even client’s within our own province that are too far away for easy pick up and delivery of their project. We will help everyone. Please contact us.
Q) How much will it cost ?
A) Each project is unique depending on what type and how much material you have. Simply contact us or email advising what you would like to have done and we can advise.
Q) Do we outsource our transfers ?
A) No. Many of our competitors do, so beware. All of our work is completed on site in our own processing studio. You precious memories will be handled with absolute care and will be packed well when shipped back to you.
Q) What happens to my originals ?
A) Nothing. Our process is non-destructive, meaning that we provide your original materials back to you in the same condition you originally provided them to us.
Q) Can I test out your services ?
A) We can understand how some may be hesitant to hand over all of their families memories in one shot. If you wish, give us a small amount to start to see what you think of the end result. I’m sure you’ll end up bringing the rest of your materials to us. We want you to feel comfortable about our abilities and services and do not take offence to such a request. But just an FYI, we do not provide testing of our services for free.
Also PLEASE NOTE: If the scope (aka price) of your project is larger than what you expect, we are more than willing to break your project up into comfortable monthly (etc.) amounts. We are willing to work with you to ensure your complete happiness.
Q) How do I pay for your services ?
A) We accept cash or cheque. Visa, Master Card and PayPal are also available with a small additional service fee. Cheques are to be made out to Super 8 Video.
Q) I have these VHS tapes, but, I don’t know what’s on them ?
A) Not to worry ! We often discover the odd VHS tape with recorded TV or recorded TV movies etc. We will not transfer these materials due to copy right infringement nor will you be charged if a tape is found to contain such footage. Give us what you have and trust you will be very well taken care of.
Q) I have all these slides, but, I don’t know what I want you to transfer as I no longer have the equipment to view them . . .
A) Not to worry ! We do have a slide projector that can be rented on a daily basis. This will allow you to look thru your slides and confirm what you want to have transferred. However, it’s my experience that bad slides were usually quickly discarded “back in the day” and most likely, what you have left are all special memories.

Q) Can you remove a jammed VHS tape from a broken/dead VHS machine ?
A) YES ! Results may vary, but I have done this numerous times before and have even fixed a few VHS machines.
